Codeita http://www.ndmweb.com/www/blog-post.php?id=6 Its coming... http://www.codeita.com Sat, 27 Mar 2010 4:23:52 EST Ethono Beta http://www.ndmweb.com/www/blog-post.php?id=4 So ever wanted to use your smartphone or laptop as a remote control for your DVR/TV? Ethono is a web-based remote control system. It provides custom easy to use controls for VLC and Tranmission. There are four main screen in Ethono. "Media", "Remote", "Downloads" and "Search". 1. Media - This page allows you to view your current database of movies. It provides a "Play Now" and "Play Next" feature. The "Play Next" feature allows you to start a playlist that VLC will follow. 2. Remote - This page give you the control function of VLC. Pause/Play, Seek, Volume. (Running of my DROID eris makes it feel just like a touchscreen remote) 3. Downloads - This page allows you to start, stop and cancel your torrent downloads. It also automatically adds the file to your library when completed. 4. Search - This page uses isohunt.com's generous search API to find popular torrent files. The search will display seeds, peers, votes and comments to help find the best version of a specific movie or show. With all these tools combined, you have a bad-ass remote control software. With a little know-how you can open your Ethono Server ports on your firewall or router and access your Ethono Server from anywhere in the world! Tue, 23 Mar 2010 10:29:37 EST Making an HTML5 Video Player http://www.ndmweb.com/www/blog-post.php?id=3 So HTML5 is coming, quick. I keep asking the same questions and keep getting vague answers from the buzz around the net. Will it replace flash video? What browsers/devices will support it? How soon can we implement and standardize it? So far I've come up with these answers. IE8, Firefox, Opera and Safari seem to have HTML5 in their current releases, while IE will have it shipping from with version 9. So what about IE8 and below? Do you drop support? Do you double or triple embed src tags? I would love to say that we could drop support for IE7 but I refer back to the 11% or so of people that still use IE7. Or the 9% that use IE6. So I guess for now. It's still up to your market. I'd say go all HTML5 specs if your target audience is web developers and computer nerds that have the latest tech. Otherwise, it's back to virtual machines and browser emulators. Fri, 19 Mar 2010 14:21:21 EST
